4 mo and 3 years

Super healthy kids! We went a couple weeks ago.

Tyler's 17 lbs 4 oz (90%) and 25" (50%). I might measure him again at home - I think he seems longer than that.

Bryce is 37 lbs and 38.5" - about 75-80% on both.

Tyler's first tooth!

Tyler's first tooth came through today! He's following in the steps of his big brother with early teeth. I'll try to get a picture of it soon. Easier said than done though...

Day at the lake

Bryce had tons of fun at the lake yesterday. He jumped off the boat and swam like a fish... Even took a two hour nap on the boat!

Sunday Afternoon

Daddy fell asleep on the couch, but Tyler stayed awake to catch a few games of the College World Series.

Happy Birthday Bryce!

Happy Birthday Bryce! I can't believe you are 3 years old. We had a backyard waterpark party - perfect for the 3 and under crowd!
Even Tyler got in on the fun! I put him in his bumbo seat in the baby pool, and he hung out with the rest of the kids.

ARUBA, Jamaica, oooh I wanna take ya...

Aruba was amazing! We (Alex, Bryce, and I) were there for a week with Alex's family. (Tyler went to baby bootcamp at GiGi's house - see previous post.) We had TWO 2-bedroom condos, so we had lots of space and full kitchens.

Day 1 Friday: Travel ALL day. I will never do 3 flights again - no matter how many aadvantage miles it saves us. UGH. Bryce was a trooper though, and no air sickness, so that was a plus!

Day 2 Saturday: Hanging at the hotel pool and grocery shopping. About 90% of the stuff in an Aruban grocery store is the same stuff you get here, just more expensive, of course. And the pool had a lazy river and waterslide - BIG hit with everyone!

Day 3 Sunday: More pool and beach. Bryce is a little fish! Swim lessons are totally paying off!

Day 4 Monday: Pool and beach. Dinner at Madame Jeanette, which was incredible! Only problem is that the kitchen got backed up, and we were at the table for 3 hours. Kids were good, but REALLY ready to go home.

Day 5 Tuesday: Catamaran snorkeling trip! Beautiful scenery and open bar... :) The Antilles is a German freighter that was sunk off the shore of Aruba in the early 40s. Pretty cool to see! Bryce also had no fear here - he sat on the trampoline dangling his legs while we were sailing. Brave boy!

Day 6 Wednesday: The "kids" went on the Kukoo Kanuku party bus for a night of dinner and barhopping. And yours truly won the limbo contest!

Day 7 Thursday: We rented Jeeps and went off-road! There is a national park on Aruba with natural pools for swimming. Only problem is that you have to 4x4 to get there. Well, the off-roading was a little more adventurous than we thought it would be, but the adventure was worth it! Incredible views! Poor Bryce got car-sick on both legs of the trip, but he's a trooper - way to puke and rally little man!

Dinner at Flying Fishbone - again, incredible. No joke, the front row of tables were physically in the WATER. We were a few feet back in the sand, but still had wonderful views of the water and ate with our feet in the sand (something I promised Bryce we would do!)

Day 8 Friday: Again, three flights. Never again! But Bryce was a great boy on the flights (and layovers)! GREAT TRIP! Hope to go back soon!

Look what I can do!

Tyler learned how to grab stuff while we were in Aruba! He's not turning over yet but I'm blaming it on that 16+ lbs he's toting around. Or, maybe he's going to have really good hand-eye coordination.

Stay tuned for Aruba pictures!

Super-Toddler

Bryce skiied this weekend. Yes, like in the lake, standing up on his "ski trainer" sled, holding the rope. We are SO proud of him.

Let's be honest, he was a little freaked out initially. But, being the mean mom that I am, I told Alex to "hit it", and off he went! I held onto the back as long as I could, but the water quickly swamped me, so I had to drop off. He kept turning around to look for me and yelled, "Daddy, wait for mommy! She felled off!" Alex made a wide turn and brought him all the way back to me.

We convinced Bryce to try it again at the river on Sunday. This was easier than in the lake. Alex and I were about 150 yards apart in the water, and our friend Charles drove the boat. Bryce skiied from me to Alex, and then back again. He is SOOO impressed with himself!

I am constantly amazed by the things that kids can do, if they only try (or have parents that make them try!)

This weekend was also Tyler's first time on the boat. Here he is in his adorable swim trunks. Sweet fat boy!
