Boat Day!

We finally got the boat out this weekend. It was super windy, but we were able to get out of the wind in a nice cove to swim with the kids.

"V" Week

Each week, Bryce's class learns a new letter. This week, V. We had to make a vegetable man as homework. Turned out pretty good, don't you think?

Tyler's 1 Year Checkup

He was so good at his checkup this morning (until the shots, but can't blame him for that). Tyler is 23 lbs 1 oz and 30" tall (about 55%ile for both). She said he is ahead developmentally and was impressed when he pointed to the picture of the cow on the wall and said "Mooo!" Can't believe he's a year already. Happy birthday to my baby!

Tyler's 1 Yr Pictures - Take Two

"Take Two" because he threw a crying fit at the first attempt.

Pictures were scheduled on Sunday at 9am. Crying fit ensued, so we tried again at 12:30, after a good nap. Although he held off crying until the end of the session, only 1 smile was captured out of 55 pictures!! It's a good thing he's cute, because he can be so frustrating. :)
The only smiling picture!!

This is the only picture on the "1" block that turned out decent.

The tiniest hint of a smile in this one.

Love the drool on his lip!

Looks so grownup!

Crying fit at the end :)

Snow Day(s)!

Unbelievable. I don't EVER remember missing 4 days of school in a row for snow when growing up in Dallas, but it happened last week! We even had enough to do some sledding down the driveway.

Happy 1st Birthday Tyler!!

I can't believe you are one already! My sweet little mama's boy...

First Game

Bryce's first game was total chaos. To be expected, yes, but more than I originally knew. The purpose of the league is to teach the fundamentals of basketball. The teams are supposed to take turns bringing in the ball, taking it down the court, passing then shooting (i.e. no stealing, etc.)

Well, turns out we were playing street ball instead! Two kids on the opposite team were really good, repeatedly stealing the ball and making most of the shots they attempted. Poor Bryce stood there with a bewildered look on his face for the whole first quarter! But, he quickly caught on and got into the game. At halftime, our coaches decided to play by the "new" rules. Alex told Bryce, "I don't care what you do, just GET THAT BALL!" And he did! He walked right up to that kid, took the ball out of his hands, ran down the court (they don't have to dribble), and shot the ball! Of course he didn't get anywhere near the basket, but he knew exactly what he was supposed to do, so I was a proud mama.

This week's game should be a little more mundane, but it was fun to see the kids getting aggressive last week.

First basketball practice!

I know all of you are rolling your eyes right now... Yes, it's a beating but the kids are so cute! Bryce was concerned he wasn't going to be good at basketball because "I don't know how to jump high to the sky", but after several dozen drills and a little practice, he can almost make it to the 6' basket.

He's #2

Dribbling

He shoots, he.... Oops airball!
